New kimono and kitsuke

Hi! Sorry for being lazy and not updating often! I'll try to update more often from now on...

Even if I'm saving money for my trip to Paris(and Japan) I just couldn't resist when I saw this ro kimono in shinei's -70% sale:

I don't like dark colors much, but somehow I fell in love with this when I saw it.(and it's 162 cm like me! And cheap! And in good condition!) I broke my other summer kimono last summer(stepped on the hem ;__;) so it needs a little bit of fixing, so it was an excellent excuse to buy a new one!
I really want to wear this one soon... That green kyofukuro is my only non hanhaba obi for summer. :( But well, the kimono has green on the pattern too!
I also bought something else too, but I have to take new pictures. I think I deleted them accidentally...

I really like my rose tsugesage, and one night I wanted to try it with my peony nagoya obi:

Please ignore all that stuff on the floor! I could take picture anywhere but in my own room, my parents were already sleeping.

I was tying the obi and my sister said"Wow you even have a matching obi for that kimono!"

I have never thought that these two would match... :P

One day after school Ifelt like dressing up and wearing my yukata!

A small bunko ^0^ I usually don't like small musubis like this, but I wanted to try one.

I really love this yukata, I got it from Tosen's yukata lucky bag. I need to buy an other one too!

I wanted to tie my obi a bit different this time.

My super long rinzu furisode is one of my favourite kimonos, but it's just too difficult to put on! Like I have said earlier, it's 174 cm long and very heavy.

After struggling with the obi for too long, I had no energy to do anything with my hair, I just left it like it was at school.(but I did put flowers a kanzashi to it!)

I accidentally left the hem too long. :x

While tying obi, I realized I have no idea how to make a fukura suzume on my back... And this is how it turned out. x(

See? The ohashori wasn't really that bad! :>

Oh and I just realized, I haven't shown that obi to you yet! It's actually a bride's maru obi, but looks like an ordinary fukuro when tied. I couldn't resist a long, fully patterned pink obi with silver butterflies on it! But now I really need green and blue shibori obiage...

That's all this time! Next time I'll show you more things I've bought and maybe some kitsuke! 8)

Hi! I wish everybody happy new year!

Sorry, I was in a hurry so my kitsuke isn't the best.

I actually how the green and silver goes with this furisode. Actually, this looks like it matches everything! x) But I hate how my ohashori and hem looks in this pic! But finally my collars look fine... I think.

I was in a christmas mood few weeks back. I wanted to wear this green kimono, but couldn't decide between my red nagoya obi and green kyobukuro(wich is actually for summer, but I didn't leave the house so nobody knows! xP), because I wasn't sure wich colored obiage&jime to wear. Green would be good with the obi, but not with green kimono. Red would be good with the kimono, but not with the obi. I decide to go with the green obi and red komono:

I still have no idea what kind of kimono is this... But I love it! It has segaiha all over it.

I think that the other red chirimen obiage would have been better colored, but I love shibori! I need more of these...

I also wanted to wear my blue/green furisode again! It's just so lovely, but really hard to dress, because the silk is so heavy and it's 11 cm longer than me...

I don't have any better pics, because the kitsuke was so messy. And my sister did part of my musubi, how cute! She is 10 years now. :P

I really need a light blue shibori obiage. And a dark green too!

I forgot about this challenge. I've tried to post kitsuke photos, but blogger ruins it all. D:

This time, my least used kitsuke items!

Those 3 obijimes marked with red. I bought them from Japan, but I spent all my money before I tried to buy matching obiages.... Dx

I need to order dark green, light blue and lilac/purple obiages from rakuten! But I also need a bit more calm colors, like brown, cream etc. :|

This baby pink nagoya obi. I love the pattern and colors, but it's so long and hard to make otaiko with. The color is also hard to match with anything . :(

I sill like this and I think I should use it more often.

This is one of my favourite obis, but I think botan is a spring motif? I bought this obi this autumn, so there hasn't been a chance to wear it yet, but soon... >8]

My black nagoya obi. It's so hard to tie, because of it's lenght... And I don't like black very much. But when it's tied, the otaiko stays in it's place and I love the pattern. \o/

The girly gal in yukata

Hi again! Sorry for not postin in long time! I actually forgot to post my yukata lucky bag I ordered from tosen few months ago. So, let me show you what I got:

A pink yukata with sakuras on it, yellow obi and getas! I love these! *A*

Onto the more gyaru look:

Bleh, sorry for my face, this was the best pic, but the only one that didn't capture my smile. :P I didn't wear any botton lashes or circle lenses, so I wouldn't call this gyaru, but gyaru-ish.

Full body shot. I know that tabi isn't supposed to be worn with yukata, but they are pink and have bows on them! Everything else but traditional, like my whole kitsuke. My obijime has sparkling (fake) diamonds an pearls! I love it~

New kitsuke pics! Furisode, komon&tsugesage

Hi! I said that I'm going to continue my challenge, but here we are again. Sorry :P

I just found theseold(and some of them are not so old)

First one is for my granny's birthday. I finally had a good chance to wear a furisode!

I really want an other fukuro obi or a maru obi! ;A;

I just used what I had, I think that golden obi would have been perfect.... Or light or dark green. Or orange. ;_;

I also ran out of time, so all I did was this boring hairstyle I failed.

And yep. I didn't also have time to do anything fancy and pretty, so just otaiko.

I have a dark green furisode obijime, but I don't know how to tie it and the amount of my dark green obiages is 0. :P

Next is my blue rose tsugesage again:

This obi actually matches this kimono, even if it doesn't look like that in pictures.

The roses have pink, hakkake is partly pink and the sleeves have pink!

Well as you can see, the obi is kind of funny. It is very thin, but stiff and made or synthetic material(it is actually an opened nagoya obi) The otaiko usually turns out pretty silly looking, but this obi makes a pretty neat bunko that stays in it's place! This obi is pretty long too.

The sleeves also have roses!

Now for the komon:

I like my new botan obi!

This is what I actually wore to an fundraising event called Yume. I was happy because I wasn't totally out of the season.... But the others were. There was only few people wearing anything kimono related stuff, and all of them wore yukata. In october. (there was also a one lady in furisode, but she was a dancer)

New kimono!

I got my order from Tosen(@rakuten) few weeks ago and I got a new kimono! I've been looking for a vintage kimono or komon for a long time now, but all of them were way too expensive or small(or bad condition). Then I found this:

(Sorry for the ugly background, not my room)

I really love the colors of this komon! It is syntethic and washable and somehow gives me a vintage feeling. It was cheap(50€ shipped, 25€ without shipping) and brand new. The lenght is also good, only a little bit too long(size L, it was the only not sold out), the kimono is 165 cm and I'm 161 cm.

I wanted to try it on, but I didn't have any matching obi:

That obi is way too bright for that kimono. I think I need beige, white, brown, gray or purple obiage and obijime.

I really wanted something for fall and winter, so this is perfect, it has kiku motif! That is also my first non-summer komon.

Btw, sorry for not replying to your comments, blogger doesn't allow me!

Kaino: That is some good luck! What kind of pattern did it have? I wish that I could find something like that.

Hui-lai-lee: That is what I thought when I bought it! It really looks like it's made from maru. And ganbatte with embroidering the obi!(I know you are good at sewing and that kind of things!)

Some new stuff! 2x obi

Hi! Sorry for being lazy, but now I have a new computer and have more time to update! I got these orders few weeks ago, so this entry is a bit late. :D

Order number 1:

One day, I was just looking trough ebay, who knows if I find something I've been looking for ages? Well, I found that Japanese. antiques had some really cheap stuff. And I saw these beauties:

A white nagoya obi with botan motfif! I love peonies ;A; It was just 10$! Ò__Ó''
There are few stains on the un patterned part on wrong side, so it's very good condition! I've wanted a light colored obi that would match easily to almost everything.

I think you can guess that I'm going to wear it with red obijime and obiage? 8_D

Second obi:

A vintage nagoya obi! I really like it! few weeks back, I said to myself: "I want a vintage nagoya obi and a maru obi" This looks like maru a lot, it is fully patterned on both sides! The fabric is really thick and stiff, it is also pretty short. (The otaiko stays pretty in this one, the botan is pretty long and soft ;_;) The condition is very good and this was also only 10$!

Hi there! I'm sorry that I have been very lazy with this challenge, but I didn't hva the time to do any blog posts. :<

Weeeelll... My most used kimono things are my first ones too. It took me a pretty long time to get an other kimono, obi or even komono, so I just used what I had.

(yep, it is folded right over left, bt when I took the pic, it looked fine because my left was over right :D) Old picture, but my kamera batteries died and I don't have any other pics any more(alread posted all of them) :<

Also my red shibori obiage, red obijime and pink obijime must be my most used ones too.( first komono)

I had hard time looking for thes pics on this computer, but the part 2 is finally here!

It was also so difficult to decide my earest kimono items(even if I only have 8 kimonos ja 6 obis) because I love them all!

But let's start...

This is ichiroya's pic of the kimono, but this is my first one. When I bought it, I didn't realize that the ondition was so bad. :[ It is also too small for me now(the ohashori is so tiny!) But it is still one of my dearest kimono items, becase it was my first one! I haven't worn it for ages, but here is a pic of my friend wearing it:

Second one is my red nagoya obi and green/blue furisode:

Those were my first obi and first furisode(I wanted a furi for ages and this was a dream come true) The furisode is still too long for me(162 cm vs 174 cm)but I just make a double ohashori. :P
I rarely wear that obi anymore, but I don't know why, mybe because I just always think that" I have worn this too much and now I have many other obis"...

Shit happened, R.I.P my little computer :|

One morning, I woke up happy and tried to stat my computer like usual... But it had already passed away ;___;;
Ermm maybe I shouldn't talk like that, it was just a computer.

I lost all my files. All my photos, stories(yep I like writing too :P), animations, drawings(and my angelic pretty and kimono picture collection fuuu!!! >:| ) from past 3 years. I had few photoshoots and outfit pics to post here, but not anymore... I hope we can get them back.

I also lost all the pics for the kimono challenge... I'm lucky, that I had few pics on this computer too, but it will still be bit difficult! Dx I'll try to continue it as soon as possible.
(Oh and I was a bad girl again, an order coming from rakuten 8~] )

I still try to update and take new pics, but this isn't my compuper and I have tests coming soon, so we'll see. :<

Maybe the biggest challenge will be that I need to put atleast one pic or video in every post...!

Today I'll start with the first one.

How did I find about kimonos?
Well... I've been a huge fan of everything Japanese since I was little kid. It all started with collecting pokemons in the kindergarden. I really don't know how I heard about kimonos, they jsut always have been there. I've wanted kimono for many many years and about year and half ago I bought my first yukata. It was a dream come true! Before that I started to ask silly questions in Enfat Terrible.(like wtf is makura and do I need a obijime with yukata/hanhaba obi) Luckily Xiner answered kinldy all my questions! With out her I wouldn't have 8 kimonos now, she is like my kimono heroe! :__D I read xiner's whole blog few times and I was sure that some day my kitsuke will be as good as hers. Still my idea of kimono accesories was the normal chopsticks, fans& hairbuns thing... Well things go better after I got my yukata(+obi, tabi&geta) from ryu(and watching ichiroya's kimono dressing video few times...):

Oh so embarassing... And yes, I was proud of that! Bad pics&bad kitsuke goes well together.

The summer came and I bought my second yukata(I still have only that obi and those yukatas) Now I knew something how the kitsuke should look like and the result wasn't that bad. Of course I liked yukatas more than kimonos, they were a lot of cheaper, colors brighter and motifs cuter etc... Until I found ichiroya. I found a lot of cheap kimonos and had to buy one. I thought that "I don't care about the condition, age or seasons, I wear what I like!" but I do care now. :P Vintage kimonos had the best patterns(or that was my opinion then) and cheapest prices so it won't be hard to quess what I bought!

No juban, erishin, obiage or obi ita, I thought that they weren't _that_ important. What a minute... I was that short!? Q__Q'' Now I can hardly make an ohashori anymore with that kimono! Btw it's not really that orange, I also luckily got a new camera after this. :P AA I really wish that I could do an ohashori this big again with this one. ;_;

Yamatoku order! It's kofuri time!

School has started few weeks ago and I'm a bit busy right now, so no time for a lot of kitsuke. :(

But I ordered two kimonos from Yamatoku and they arrived last week!
Let's see what I got...

My first tsugesage~ I have wanted a light blue kimono for a while now and the price wasn't so bad, I just had to buy it! I really love the pattern. It has some ugly stains on it, but I don't care omg it's so gorgeous! >u<

Btw those obiage and jime doesn't match, I need a lighter pink obijime(the kimono has some lovely pink details). :'<

Short obi makes a tiny and funny looking otaiko...

Here you can see the pattern on the sleeves. Pretty isn't it?

Next is the kofurisode:

I wanted a modern furisode and also a orange kimono and when I saw that this was only 16€(originally 90$) I bought it~!

Well... It wasn't orange. It was pink. But my favourite color is pink! But I already have 2 pink kimonos. :(
I like how my bamboo nagoya obi, red shibori obiage and obijime matches it! Sadly nagoya obis aren't a good choice for a furi and bamboo is a december(?) motif... Sakura is april. >:|
Well I'm still going to use these two together 8~)

The same thing to animeseminaari 2011, but with bag, zori and 2(!) kanzashis. I couldnt decide wich kanzashi to choose, so I chose both of them!

Ichiroya order, Two new obis

My two new babies are home! Yay! I ordered two nagoya obis(even if I need fukuro not nagoya) because I got some extra money at animecon. :D I wanted something to match my kimono I ordered from yamatoku(I hope it arrives this week) and decided to go with dark blue. I fell in love with this one, the pattern is just lovely! I already saw a nightmare about the lenght, it's only 3m long. But it's perfect and easy to put on and also really good condition! It was only 26€ :o

The only problem is that it isn't dark blue! It's black! And I never wear black... ;_; Even if I usually don't like black, I have been thinking about buying a black obi so the color isn't really a big issue. Btw don't think about the obijime and obi age because I just randomly picked the nearest ones.

The next obi is a purple and with simple bamboo motif. I wanted something with bamboos and purple so this was perfect and only 19€!(the condition is great)

This one has also one and a bigger problem:

It's so soft that the otaiko is hard to keep in it's shape! Argh too soft! Dx But well, I think I can solve this problem somehow... But if not, what would you do?

After all I'm really happy with these even if I don't anything to match! Especially with the bamboo one... Advice needed! Dx

It's been a looooong time! animecon&other picspam

I finally came back from ~~the middle of nowhere~~ Lapland and Norway and now I'm ready to blog again!

I have no pics on my own camera of my animecon kitsuke, but I think I did show it before... But well atleast I have some pictures of my artist alley table! So sad that I didn't see any other IG members.(or didn't recognize them)
Saturday(I wore angelic prettys dream sky if anybody is intrested in lolita fanshion and wants to know)

Nextday(sunday, I wore a kimono) I actually didn't have many things left to sell... Picture taken in the morning before people came

Well the animecon stuff wasn't actually aynthing kimon related but I think it would be nice to show even few pics from there!

My first attempt at dressing some one else and as you can see, the kitsuke could be better... But well at least she looked beautiful! ;D I just wore a yukata because the lack of an other obi-ita and eri shin(also quick and bad kitsuke ) That kimono is btw my pre world war 2 homoungi that I think you have never seen on my blog or ig. :o But It's too short to make a pretty ohashori ;__;;

Next time I think I'll post some things I bought!(silly me, I wasn't supposed to buy anything yet, but I already spent all the money on kimonos and obis) I can't wait to ge my new babies home!

Ichiroya order+ kofuri kitsuke

One of my ichiroya orders(yes, I made 2 order, because I ran out of money first! >u<) came today and I just had to try these on! These kimono& obiare my first summer kimono items and their story is kind of intresting... Okay, not that intresting, but still. One day, a week a go, I got a really strange idea. I want to wear kimono to animecon 2011 this summer. But first I have to buy whole new kimono outfit, this time summer stuff! But I didn't have much money. So, I bought the cheapest and best fitting summer kimono I could find.(I'm happy that it is a cute one, even if you really can't see the pattern in the pics!) Choosing a obi was hard, but then I saw this syntethic summer kyo fukuro obi, I know I had to buy it! It was green! Yay for green! The other option was a pink ro nagoya obi, but it had a folding line.(the green one is brand new)

Just a quick kitsuke and ugly ohashori! I wanted to make this simple kimono look more princessy, so I decided to put the pink obijime with pearls! Trying to hide my obiage, my ro one is still on it's way from ichiroya..

The pattern of the kimono has some red, so that's why I chose red obi age& obi jime.

It's only +30 inside and I already feel like living in the freezer the whole summer with my kimonos! It's even too hot for lolita... Luckily, there is only +25 out.

Yesterday, I visited my friend and finally wore kimono outside of the house or garden.(wait, once I wore a kimono to see granny and once for my cousins birthday) I'm just too shy to wear kimono, I just always think "what if my kitsuke is bad?" or "what if it's totally out of the season?".

Excuse me the weird face! Dx I look totally stupid in this pic, wearing my hair like that.(and yes, I had a quickly done hairbun and flowers at the back, but it's not visible in this pic)
I forgot to put on my zori before taking the pic, btw, that's the matching bag for the zori! I still think, that I should buy a silver colored bag to match my fukuro obi. I also think, that the obi was way too formal, but I love how it looks with the kimono! I wasn't planning to wear a kimono, but things like this happen. :P
I feel silly still wearing awase, but I'm happy I did, otherwise it would have been too cold.

Question: for what season is segaiha for? :o

Last thing, didn't I say I like green? :D

Kimono shopping in Tokyo

I spent most of my money on lolita, and of course I almost ran out of money before I got to Asakusa.
Let me tell first you a litlle bit about Asakusa and kimono shops. I thought they were not easy to find, but actually there is a one shop at every corner and street around Nakamise dori. The shops are pretty small, but there is always a good selection of all kind of kimonos. Just outside the shop, you can find a lot of discount kimonos..(usually they go for 1000-5000 yen) I only found one shop selling new kimonos, so most of them are used. Some of the staff in the shops were pretty rude at first, but when they realized I speak even a litlle bit Japanese they were nice and friendly. Be careful when buying a kimono: usually the cheap ones have bad stains or something. If you want to see the stains, I suggest you to try it on. (otherwise it may be difficult to see them, because they are always nicely folded in the shelf) They usually have the lenght of the kimono marked in the prie tag(but not always)

Ps, most of the shops had a lot of stunning furisodes for 5000-50 000 yen. I wish I had a lot of money, so could have bought a beautiful furisode like that...

On Nakamise, there is a lot of shops selling kimon accesories like obiage, obijime, juban and stuff. If you find something you like in the first shop, you may find it in the other shops too(for cheaper or for more expensive)
There is also a lot of shops selling kanzashi, like komachi hair(there is two komachi on Nakamise)

Now the thing most of you may have been waiting for, the thing I bought:

A green segaiha pattern komon!(atleast it looks like a komon for me) It's syntethic material and like new. I found it outside one kimono shop with other discount kimonos. Only 3000 yen! That was cheap and it is in excellent condition!

I love this furisode! I bought this at the first shop and it has some stains, but it was the only furisode that would fit me(most of them were 150-158 cm, and this was 160 cm) It wasn't very expensive, only about 5200 yen.

Sakura kofurisode! Some of you may have already seen this on immortal geisha and the first blog post.(excuse me the obi, obiage and obi jime on the pic) The sleeves look short here, bu they are a lot of longer than my normal kimonos. It has some pretty green details, but they are not visible in the pic. This is in perfect ondition and it was cheap! Only about 5200 yen like my other furisode.

The obis:

The things I really needed wasn't kimonos, but obis... Still I only ended buying two obi, One silver fukuro and pink nagoya. When I got back to the hotel, I realized why the nagoya was only 2000 yen... It is an opened nagoya obi! But it doesn't have any other stains and stuff but... Yeah, that's why I told you to look carefully at the items before you buy, not after! >A< I still really like them both, I love pink and I've always wanted a shiny silver fukuro!

Obi jime:

I found those pink and purple ones at claire's in Harajuku, I just had to buy them! I have also wanted green obi jime for a long time. Those furisode obi jime are something that doesn't match any of my obiage, but now I have 3 furisode, I had to buy some obi jime too! They are also too difficult to tie.(I have found some tutorials, but they didn't help)
Kanzashi:

Bira Bira for my maiko cosplay and the ne with flowers was just too pretty.

I had only a litlle bit money left, so I bought that little red and white kanzashi. The big pink one is for my maiko cosplay too.
Obiage:

I bought the pink one to match my older obijime, the red one for the maiko cosplay(I'll paint the silver things to it) and the green obiage to match my green obi jime.
